The Boston Celtics are one win away from the 2024 NBA title after a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. The Celtics pulled away in the third quarter with a dominant two-minute span, extending their lead to 2-0 in the series.
The Celtics withstood a frantic Dallas Mavericks comeback attempt in the final minutes of the game. The Mavericks, who trailed by 17 points late in the third quarter, rallied to within six points with 3:43 remaining.
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 27 points, while Jayson Tatum added 24 points and 12 rebounds. Luka Dončić had a team-high 26 points for the Mavericks, but he was just 9-of-25 from the field.
The Celtics will have a chance to close out the series in Game 3 in Boston on Wednesday night.
