Sorcery - Beyond Kickstarter
From Crowd-Funded to Retail Release

Gen Con 2022 saw the explosive Kickstarter success of Sorcery. Now, in 2024, the Alpha Edition has reached its backers worldwide, thanks to Eriks Curiosa Limited. However, the journey doesn't end there.
A new set is on the horizon, distinct from the Alpha set. It will embody the feedback and improvements gathered during the Alpha's evolution. Unlike its predecessor, this set will be available through retail channels, expanding its reach.
Sorcery, by design, defies conventional game categories. As a Kickstarter Exclusive Pledge Card, the card transformed into a spell book-style companion, hinting at potential gameplay changes.
Intriguingly, the card bears a 2019 design date, pre-dating the Kickstarter campaign. This suggests that the seed of Sorcery was sown years before its crowdfunding success. The set number further fuels speculation among collectors eager to optimize their collection organization.
As a print-to-demand release, the Alpha Edition's print run has been estimated at approximately 29,000 booster boxes and 7,000 precons. With the switch to retail channels, it remains to be seen how this will impact the availability and collectible value of Sorcery.
