Saudi Arabia has officially announced that the first day of Eid Al Fitr, a significant religious festival for Muslims marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, will fall on Friday, April 21, 2023.
The sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon was confirmed in Saudi Arabia, leading to the determination of the Eid date. The crescent moon was visible on Thursday evening after Maghrib prayers in the Kingdom.
The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia issued the official confirmation on Thursday, triggering preparations and celebrations for the festival worldwide. Eid Al Fitr is celebrated by Muslims around the globe, marking the conclusion of the fasting month and the beginning of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar.
